Oh god I love this piece.
Eeeeee. Because I make everything about Glee, my headcanon will be that This is a gift from Kurt to Blaine.
Just enough bondage elements for a touch of Kurt (and you know, a touch of possessive symbolism ahem), but a nice shawl collar and cardigan qualities to be entirely Blaine appropriate.
(yes, I’m spending NYE watching Breakfast at Tiffany’s).
So… anyone else notices something interesting about this…? Like… Paul’s outfit? And Dalton’s uniform being more similar to it than Kurt’s attempt from NBK?

And also not!Paul (Holly calls him Fred). Which is messing with my head in all kinds of weird ways. Because Blaine/Dalton and notPaul all at once.
Also (specifically talking movie Paul) the whole kept man in a gilded palace where he’s safe and secure to be a writer even though he doesn’t really write thing. Very Dalton-esque.
I am sooooooo watching this movie again in the next couple of days. Possibly more than once. Because I seriously need to think about Kurt/Holly as well. I mean, christ… he literally ate Breakfast at Tiffany’s in homage to the movie.

Anyway… yes, I totally agree with you on cut/color/everythig. And yes, he looked gorgeous. That whole outfit was gorgeous.
There’s something I remember telling someone saying “I FUCKING COVET THAT _______” except it was sometime last season and I cannot for the life of me remember what it was or what episode it was in now! LOL! I need to figure out what that was because I’m pretty sure that would be my #1 pick, assuming I could just have it and not pay for it. :D
But I just realized that I think I actually kind of DID raid Kurt’s wardrobe in a manner of speaking. A year ago or so, I bought a black and white version of the McQueen scarf Kurt wore during “Rose’s Turn”. He’s worn it other times, but I bought it BECAUSE of that particular time. That was such a MOMENT for Kurt, and such a MOMENT for him and Burt and it always makes me have so many FEELS about being who you are and owning it and screaming it to the world. And no, I did not pay retail ($295) for it. I got it used on eBay for $75 (including shipping). And it’s honestly one of my absolute favorite things I own right now.

That blue jacket, from the stairwell scene at McKinley when he and Blaine confront Karofsky. OMG. The most beautiful thing he;s worn in my book, and I want it terribly. Close second: Those damn safety pin pants from BIOTA.
I LOVE THAT BLUE JACKET. I wouldn’t choose it for myself, but that jacket/scarf combo was so fucking gorgeous and something about it makes it integral to the scene for me. I’ve never really thought about why that is carefully, but I feel like that scene would be very different if nothing changed but that jacket.
Is it purely a sartorial choice for you? And I don’t think I need to ask you why about those safety pin pants. ;)

The green and purple tartan Vivienne Westwood suit from The Purple Piano Project. I’d been aching to see him in it for months when that aired, and might have screamed when I realized he was really wearing it. LOVE.

because that jacket would look fabulous on me if i was like, 80kg lighter… and because i feel a certain amount of empowerment in kurt in that moment. that he’s strong and confident.
I love how clothing can really be an empowering element. I totally think that’s a huge part of the way Kurt dresses, so yeah. I totally get that.

Fair enough! It’s probably super soft too. My headcanon (which I believe is totally supported by canon) is that Kurt is an extremely tactile person. Not with other people, but that touch is really important to him, “a touch of the fingertips” and all that. I don’t think it’s any mistake that we get so many hand shots with Klaine or that some of the hottest moments we get from Kurt are hand shots (the two shots in TFT that always make me go GUH are Kurt hand shots). But I digress… Yeah. Soft sweater. LOL!

Cass and I must be on a similar wavelength, because that Lip Service straitjacket was one of my runner-up choices. I made a straightjacket of sorts in high school, so it kind of got to me on a few levels.Now I have to go back and find the origina post to see what your #1 pick was! :)

there’s a lot of other things of kurt’s i’d like, but my personal style is very different from his because i like to wear dresses. i already have a lot of boots, but i LOVE that bag and it’s not available anymore :(This is what ebay alerts are made for! :D

Kurt has worn a LOT of things in 3.5 seasons of Glee. So why that one thing? What about it would make you choose it over all other things he has?
